Charlestown Working Theater is established.

It is located in a decommissioned firehouse at 442 Bunker Hill Street. The community theater produces new work, sponsors community and children’s programs, and provides space for other theater companies. Peggy Ings is the first artistic director. She is succeeded by Kristen and Jennifer Johnson and John Speitos in 1993.
